Terms of Use

Last updated: 21 August 2026  ·  Operated by Krimo

These are the promises that apply when you use Krimo. By starting to use the app, you agree to them. How we handle personal information is written separately, in the privacy policy.

01Who holds the account

A Krimo account belongs to a parent or guardian. A child uses it through a "profile" created inside that account. Someone under 18 cannot sign up on their own.

02Pricing and cancellation

  • The free plan costs nothing.
  • Prices and limits for paid plans are on the plans page.
  • We never charge you automatically. We email you as the term draws to a close; if you want to continue, you renew it yourself.
  • Cancelling takes effect at the end of the current term. Everything keeps working until then.
  • We do not refund the unused part of a term when you cancel partway through.
  • When a paid plan ends, the videos you already have are not deleted. If you are over the limit, you simply cannot add new ones.

For purchases made inside the app, Apple's or Google's terms and refund rules apply.

Right of withdrawal: if you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have fourteen (14) days to withdraw from a subscription. If you ask us to start providing the service within that period, you accept that the right ends once the service has been fully performed. To exercise it, write to support@krimo.net.

03The data you entrust to us

  • You keep the rights to the videos you upload. Krimo does not use them for anything else.
  • A video that hasn't been played for 2 years is deleted, after a notice sent 14 days beforehand. Playing it once in the app resets the clock.
  • A deleted video disappears for good after 30 days.
  • Please also keep your own copy of anything important.

04What isn't allowed

  • Uploading videos you don't hold the rights to
  • Content that harms other people, or that breaks the law
  • Sharing an account outside your household (family sharing is meant for one household)
  • Accessing the service improperly, analysing it, or placing excessive load on it
  • Using the YouTube features in a way that breaks YouTube's own terms

Where any of these apply, we may suspend the account without prior notice.

05Changes to the service

Features may be added or changed. If we ever had to shut the service down, we would give at least three months' notice and leave a window for you to take your videos out. It will never stop without warning.

06Liability

Krimo is provided as it is. Depending on your connection or the state of your device, syncing or playback may not work as expected. Except where caused by our intent or gross negligence, we cannot be held responsible for losses you incur. Where we are responsible, that responsibility is capped at what you paid over the last twelve months.

This cap does not apply where the law does not permit it — including death or personal injury — nor to statutory consumer guarantees in your country.

07Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Japanese law, with the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance.

None of this limits the rights consumer law in your country gives you. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, the mandatory rules of your country still apply and you may bring proceedings where you live.
